Last week saw another fantastic live performance at Greenfield Community College, funded and organized by Greenfield Arts as part of an extensive live performance programme. “Tiny Treasures” was performed on Thursday to an audience of Year 7 students. This series of short pieces came together in a beautiful piece of theatre, inspired by the stories of young carers and written by award winning playwright Kevin Dyer. The funny and bittersweet show explored life through a young carers eyes, telling stories of childhood, imagination and bravery.
After the performance a group of Greenfield students had the opportunity to take part in a workshop run by some of the young carers involved in the production, which encouraged an often hidden issue to be discussed.
The Greenfield students were mesmerized by the performance, which is at the beginning of it’s tour.  Greenfield Arts are pleased to have been able to work with Theatre Hullabaloo again to bring this fantastic piece to Greenfield.
Greenfield Arts have funded many live performances over the past couple of years and are looking forward to the extensive programme we have planned over the next 12 months, which will include more opportunities for young people as well as performances for adults.
