On Tuesday evening a hot air balloon made a ‘crash’ landing on the field between Clanny Road flats and Pudsey Walk in the Neville Parade area of the town.
My family and I initially saw the balloon rise over the trees behind our house, then skimming over rooftops and narrowly missing trees made a safe landing on the field. The ‘driver’ of the balloon should be commended on making such a good landing in what could have been an awful situation. Many of the neighbours from the vacinity and neighbouring streets gathered on the field to witness the event – what a sight!
