The Mayor of Great Aycliffe, Councillor Barbara Clare, held a Charity Cabaret Evening in the Royal British Legion Club on Thursday, 1st May 2014 to help raise funds for her nominated charities during her year in office.
Councillor Mrs. Clare has jointly nominated the St. Clare’s Food Bank and the Cardiothoracic Unit at James Cook Hospital as her charities.
The evening was a huge success with an amount of £492 being raised from the raffle and bingo. This amount will be added to the total collected during the year when cheques will be presented to representatives of the charities prior to the Annual Council Meeting in the Council Offices on the 14th May 2014 at 7 p.m.
Councillor Mrs. Clare would like to thank everyone who supported this event by attending or donating to the raffle. A special thanks must go to the Cabaret Artistes, Stan Fuller and Tanya Malone for their excellent performances.
The Town Council thanks the Royal British Legion for allowing us the use of their premises and to the Committee Members for helping with the event. As usual the pie and peas supplied by Amanda at the Legion were delicious.
Once again, thank you to everyone who supported the event and made it such a huge success.
