Dear Sir,
A good article in last week’s “Newton News” about ‘Developments at Cobblers Hall’ ie addressing concerns of local residents about what’s happening to the Moor.
The ‘Area of Scientific Interest’, which had shrunk with the development of new housing, has been decimated as your article says, but what happened to the Natterjack Toads that I believe were the subject of the ‘Area of Scientific Interest’ being designated? All the excavation work (see photo) must surely mean the Natterjacks are no more …
I don’t recall residents of the area being consulted about ‘developing’ the Area of Scientific Interest into a pond when developing part of the Moor for new housing was mooted.
The bad developments of the Moor certainly contrast with the good developments with the Hitachi site (photo attached).
