Last week was another great week for Greenfield Community College’s dancers, with multiple performances at Sedgefield School Sport Dance Festival held at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre.
The three groups are based at Greenfield. These are called ICEL8 break dance, Grounded Dance Group and Emma Cox’s after school club. The ICEL8 group, who are a boy’s only break dance club, did fantastically well in their first public performance – Mrs Etherington, who works with the boys said: “They smashed it!”
The Emma Cox after school club, based at Greenfield, opened the afternoon event with a fabulous 70’s inspired piece. The Grounded Dance Group from Greenfield performed their happiness themed routine which they have been working on with Mrs Etherington and won the exceptional quality award. They are looking forward to performing at the Gala Theatre next week.
This is a fantastic representation of the talent and hard work that takes place in Greenfield’s Dance studio, part of the Performing Arts department – well done to all!
