Under 10 Falcons travelled to Seaton on a blustery Sunday morning. The boys started against the wind and kept the ball on the deck and played some attractive football.
We should have taken the lead when good work on the wing from Declan wasn’t pounced on by Tom and Liam at the back. They were inches away from a tap in if they had gambled.
Seaton got in the game and took the lead when a Seaton player kicked the ball out of our keeper’s hands and to my amazement the ref allowed the goal.
On the stroke of HT Seaton went 2 up with a wind assisted strike. One or two of the boys lost their heads which was unlike them. A couple of changes and the wind in our sails and Seaton were on the back foot. We created some good chances and a great save from the Seaton keeper kept their 2 goal lead.
Declan was unlucky not to score when a drive heading in the top corner was pushed around the post by an alert Seaton keeper. As time was running out, up popped Tom Jasper to slot home and reduce the deficit.
We huffed and puffed and created 2 glorious chances, Liam knocking over from 3 yards and Tom hitting the bar, but time just ran out on us. A good performance in bad conditions, but the winning run is over. We will pick ourselves up and hopefully end eleven unbeaten run this season. MoM Declan Scott, was back to his best, creating chances and unlucky not to score.
