Greenfield college Listed “above average”

This year’s school league tables highlight the continued success at Greenfield Community College.
In the summer the school achieved record results which have led the Daily Telegraph to identify Greenfield Community College as one of the 50 most improved secondary schools in England. The Guardian newspaper, in its analysis, described Greenfield as above average and improving. Greenfield has shown the fastest rate of increase in A* to C including English and Maths.
For the Government’s Gold standard EBacc qualification Greenfield beat the national average of 23% with a performance of 31%. They were the only school to achieve this for students with lower prior attainment out of all 34 secondary schools in the county. Head teacher Mr David Priestley said “these achievements demonstrate our commitment to maximise the potential of every child in our school.” Having just celebrated some fantastic GCSE English results, the school is confident of the future. Year 11 students have just completed mock exams and are now in the process of careful preparation for summer exams.

The continued success of Greenfield over the last 5 years has been recognised by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust , which invited Head teacher David Priestley to talk about the journey of improvement at their National Conference in Manchester recently.
