The Future’s bright for Newton Aycliffe Town Centre. This past year has seen changes, many of them positive and uplifting. Over the last twelve months contractors have worked hard to bring a fresh and beautiful look to our town. Those who work in our many retail units, banks and offices have stood the test of some very hard times to what hopefully will be a future to look forward to with promise and hope.
There have been changes with unfortunately some shops and offices closing, but there have been new ones coming along to take their place. We welcome the new Cupcake shop, and the very smart New Look store. Alongside these the Post Office is relocating into the old Heron store, which looks bright and welcoming. There is promise of more new shops coming in 2014.
The opening of our New Town Centre, by Mayor Barbara Clare was fantastic, with people crowding into it showing their support.
Lets hope 2014 will be a sign of hope to all who work in our town – they deserve our full support and loyalty for giving us their townspeople 100% effort in keeping their places open throughout the regeneration period. May they look forward to when all the work is completed in our town, and they can reap the benefits.
On behalf of myself, and Churches Together in Great Aycliffe . . . As Christmas approaches, the beautiful story of the baby Jesus coming into a dark world is told, bringing with him signs of hope and light – message of peace and love. May it fill your hearts with joy. May you all have a peaceful and blessed Christmas, and may you look forward to a New Year filled with love for each and every person you meet. God bless you all.
