The meeting starts with a PACT meeting at 6.30 at the Evangelical Church followed by the Residents meeting. The church is open from 6.15 for refreshments.
Cathy Slater Housing Choice Manager for livin is our guest speaker and she will talk about how to apply for properties and what procedures are used to ensure applicants are acceptable and what happens when a tenant is in breach of their tenancy.
There will be representatives from the Police, Town and County Wardens and Councillors; this is a good opportunity to ask questions and to air any concerns you have. By working together we can make our good neighbourhoods better.
Gary Eastman from Gallifordtry will be attending, but this will be his last meeting as the new estate is nearly complete with tenants moving in before the end of November. I would like to thank him for the way he ran the site over last year, He was ready to discuss and communicate with locals, and his door was open to anyone who wished to speak to him. His workers kept the site and surrounding hedges tidy and he ensured all contractors used the church car park to keep disruption to a minimum. We are looking forward to seeing the new homes occupied after years of looking at the derelict nursing home.
On the 23rd November at Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre there is an opportunity for people to vote for which projects receive GAMP funding. This is an opportunity for residents to decide where the money is spent instead of the decision being made by others, so please show what is important to you. We have applied for £2,500 for our MUGA project which will help us get closer to the total we need. We are almost there and we would encourage you to go along on 23rd November and vote for our project.
