The Helping Hands team are preparing packs of warm winter clothing to help  people hit hardest by the recession in the Newton Aycliffe area. Alwyn White says, as the winter closes in we do not want anyone to go cold who can’t afford to buy warm clothing.  If you find yourself hit by things like redundancy, illness, benefit delay, domestic violence, debt, family breakdown and paying for the additional costs of heating during this winter then we want to hear from you.  There is no reason why people should struggle unnecessary when we are able to help.
Volunteers from Life Church are putting together bundles of brand new clothing ready to go out soon.
Helping Hands are now offering a brand new service where people can text their details – name, address, telephone number, D.O.B and reasons they need help.  After we receive their text we will give them a friendly call back and explain how we may be able to help.
