Greenfield Community College are working in partnership with Bishop Barrington Table Tennis Club (who recently gained Junior Club of the year), and Head Coach Matthew Porter (who recently gained Coach of the year at the recent County Durham Sports awards). Matthew’s Club in Bishop Auckland has only been established for a couple of years, and is already one of the top clubs in the County, and is already producing national standard players.
Greenfield have high hopes for their newly established club. Matthew (who is also the County performance coach) is having a massive impact on the standards achieved at the school.
Table Tennis is consequently going from strength to strength at the School. In July the year 8 girls took Silver in the County Finals, and last week Greenfield’s Yr 8 boys travelled to Sedgefield, and were crowned Sedgefield Champions. Well done to Connor Elston, Aidan Wong, Matthew Davis and Lewis Rigg, the boys are now training hard towards the County finals in March, good luck boys.
