Bewick Pharmacy has recently been accredited as one of the first Healthy Living Pharmacies in the area at an awards ceremony on 12th September held at Ramside Hall.
This is a new initiative introduced by Durham County Council and Darlington Borough Council and recognises the high quality services and advice offered within the pharmacy. Throughout the last year campaigns were run in the store on topics such as Mental Health, Cancer Awareness and Alcohol Awareness.
As a Healthy Living Pharmacy the pharmacy offers expert advice on Stopping Smoking with a stop smoking adviser in store who is on hand to help with a 12 week support programme. They also offer FREE NHS Check4Life Health Checks that can help assess your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes or kidney disease. These checks are FREE and will only take
30 minutes. It will involve FREE height, weight, blood pressure and cholesterol measurements and some questions about your health, diet, exercise and family history.
