The Alun Armstrong Soccer Centre on the George Reynolds Industrial Estate near Shildon is coming up to its one year anniversary on August bank holiday. The Soccer Centre is a state of the art indoor football facility, boasting the best FIFA 1* & 2* rated 3G turf available. Originally the venue was an empty warehouse which was run down and in need of major repairs, Alun and his partners spent a significant amount of personal money to convert the warehouse and offer the local and surrounding area some of the best training facilities in the north east.
The Soccer Centre holds 6 five aside football pitches available for public hire as well as holding leagues for different ages, training sessions for children aged 4-14 years old, winter training for the local youth and adult teams as well as hosting Middlesbrough F.C development training. The Tesco FA Skills coaches stated it as “A superb inspiring football facility.”
As a celebration of the centre’s one year anniversary, there will be a special offer in which the pitches will be available for hire for the small price of £15 per hour from the 26th August to the 30th August 2013 from 5pm-9pm.
Each pitch is outlined with rebound boards which act as a perfect advertising opportunity for local business due to the high number of people the centre has through the doors on a daily basis. Many local businesses have already seized this opportunity and now have their own boards on one of our six pitches. As well as the football pitches, the Soccer Centre has a café with a viewing windows of the pitches, a conference room which is available to host birthday parties, fitness classes and business meetings.
The Centre is owned and ran by the ex premiership footballer and current Middlesbrough FC U16 coach Alun Armstrong himself.
