Newton Aycliffe Rugby club chose its new 1st XV captain for the 2013/2014 season. Blind side flanker Warren (Woz) Parsonage made a timely return back to the club during the pre season training sessions, after playing last season for Sedgefield.
Warren was Aycliffe Captain before but decided a change of clubs might improve his game. He has certainly led the way in training and has been rewarded by a unanimous vote as the preffered captain for the new season.
The squad has recently enjoyed a complete overhaul in management and with new and old players coming back to the club it promises to be an exciting season for everyone associated with the club. Last Saturday’s squad game showed the commitment and skill factor was on the rise for the club with some fantastic rugby played.
The game was  refereed by old boy Carl Hall, who is doing well in the rugby referees society as a level 5 national coach.The squad will get their chance to see how they have really progressed with a friendly against Yorkshire 3 side Northallerton this Saturday at Moore Lane. Kick off is 3pm.
