At our last Rotary meeting, Police Sgt Andy Boyd came along to talk with us about the Newton Aycliffe Police strategy on knife crime prevention which is being rolled out across schools in our community. His presentation was hard hitting yet effective and provoked much discussion among us.
Other guests included Rotarians Gary Blenkinsopp of Darlington Rotary Club, Jacqui Molyneux and Mike Overy, both from Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club. Jacqui and Mike are currently delivering a similar programme to schools, colleges and community groups across the region on behalf of Rotary, using VCR technology. It was interesting to chat about the merits of the differing approaches and the aim is to support each with partnership working at some point in the future.
If any groups in the area wish to talk more with Rotary about this initiative, please get in touch.
