On Sunday 6th October, Newton Aycliffe based kart racer Scarlet Whitaker Dunn attended Teesside Autodrome for a day of testing on her new MS Junior Pro-Kart.
Her new kart is quite a contrast from what she has been used to, in that it is more powerful due to the twin Honda GX200 engines and more grip from its wider wheels and tyres.
For the last two years, Scarlet has been racing in the highly competitive Honda Cadet 200cc class, but has relished the opportunity to step up to a bigger and faster kart.
It was apparent that Scarlet was enjoying the new kart from the outset, as her lap times tumbled as she adjusted to the better brake and improved grip.
“I love the Pro-kart, especially the new brake, which I find is very reliable and responsive, I thoroughly enjoyed the shake down and look forward to being able to race the kart,” said Scarlet.
We would like to thank Amaron Racing, PHM (Peninsula Historic Motorsport), Grandad Ron and Rob Storey for their generous assistance and financial support making this possible.
