Aycliffe U9 Wildcats v CLS Gems
Another good performance from the girls. They took the lead early and stayed in front for the rest of the match. Great finishing on show from the four goal scorers. Sophie finished her three goals really well and Ella (2), Emilia and Bonnie were the other scorers.
Cleveland Jnrs v Aycliffe U8 Eagles
Aycliffe travelled to Cleveland Juniors for their first away game of the season. They came out the blocks quickly, racing to a three goal lead inside eight minutes. Some good passing and a fantastic defensive display from Nathan meant we finished the first half strongly. A further three goals meant we went on to win the game comfortably. Goals from Luke (3), Elijah (2), Mason, Fraser and Nathan.
Aycliffe U9 Eagles v Riverside Greens
In only their second game of the season, the boys found themselves one nil down, but soon levelled and went in at half time 2-1 up. After a number of subs, the boys came out flying in the second half and scored five unanswered goals and could have had more. Goals for Josh (2), Ollie, Jacob, Zac and Ben.
Prissick Rovers v Aycliffe U10 Eagles
The boys were looking to continue their fine form. Almost all the game was played in the opposition half, with the boys creating chance after chance. At half time we spoke about drawing the opponent out of their defensive areas and this opened the floodgates for another clean sheet and a big win.
Aycliffe U11 Falcons v FC Hartlepool
A tough morning for the new Falcons at the Oakleaf against a very strong, physical, Hartlepool side who have played together for five years. Not the result we wanted, but we learn and move on to the next match. POM: Evan Bowman.
Wrekenton Nou Camp 2 v 3 Aycliffe U13 Wildcats
The 1st round of the league cup was a really close game, both sides battled well, creating numerous chances. Every Aycliffe girl put in a solid shift against a good Wrekenton team, 1-0 down then two goals saw us lead with goals from Sophie and Amelia. They equalised and, with three mins left, it was looking like penalties, then Wrekenton got the winner.
Aycliffe U13 Eagles 6 v 6 TIBS Whites
Tibs opened the scoring, but Sam Maddison quickly equalised, before the lads took a three one lead with goals from Mo and Tarek. In the first half, the visitors scored twice more and then Eagles striker Tarek sealed his hat-trick. HT 5-3. Sam Maddison scored again before the away team capitalised on some tired legs to level.
Aycliffe U14 Girls 2 v 6 Shotton Colts
A bit unlucky to have drawn a prem team in the first round of the cup. But the girls put on a very gutsy performance and managed two brilliantly worked goals. Despite being under constant pressure, the girls were still able to create many of their own chances to score throughout the entire match. POTM: Jasmine.
Pool Youth U16 Girls 6 v 4 Aycliffe U15 Angels
First round of the U16 County Cup and the girls held their own against older opposition. Aycliffe took an early lead and then again for 1-2, before being 3-2 down at half time. Heads didn’t go down when Pools extended their lead to 5-2 and we pulled it back to 5-4 with 10 minutes left. Pools ended up with another to make certain. Goals: Charli (3) and Hannah. Star players: Charli and Isobel.
