Dear Sir,
I see that MP Alan Strickland has now voted to remove the winter fuel payment (in addition to keeping the two child benefit cap).
This is without an impact study or a completed campaign to increase take up of pension credit.
This, in effect, has replaced one broad brush with another, to the detriment of the most vulnerable.
Perhaps Mr Strickland would care to say what is his red line for further impoverishment of some of the most vulnerable in society. Any argument about budget black holes is specious.
We are the fifth or sixth richest country in the world.
It is all about choices and Mr Strickland seems to have firmly indicated what his choices are as our representative. In this case, basically the same as his lacklustre predecessor.
