This year (March 2024) I hit a milestone that, at one stage I didn’t think I would ever see, and that is four years clear of cancer. So, having successfully hit that milestone, I thought it would be a good idea to set myself a celebratory challenge and, having ridden the width of England last year, the next logical step is to ride the length of the UK! How hard can it be? Actually, quite a challenge so, on 7th September, I left for Land’s End on my push to arrive at John O’Groats on the 15th September so, I need to average around 110 miles a day for 9 days.
I will be undertaking this challenge to raise funds for the Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group. This charity, as some of you may know, is very close to mine and my family’s hearts, having helped us in the darkest of times during the early days after my diagnosis, when we were trying to make sense of everything and, still to this day, Allison, and her crew, check in with us to make sure we are all ok so, again, it is time I give back to them.
Unfortunately, there is a growing need for their services, but funds, as we all know, are not limitless to cover everything and, as such, I am asking for you to give generously so this charity can continue to do the amazing work they do. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them or send unwanted emails.
Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So, it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs.
Further details and the necessary link can be found on the Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group Facebook page.
