Aycliffe North and Middridge County Councillor John D Clare was particularly delighted recently when he passed 100 friends for his councillor facebook site.
John told the Newton News: “Each day, I post onto my facebook site an account of everything I have done that day as a councillor, so anybody who wants can see what I am doing, and why … and comment if they wish.”
You do not have to become a ‘facebook friend’ of Councillor Clare to look at his website – it is publicly available at www.bit.ly/JDClare – but he would like to add even more ‘facebook friends’ in the future.
He says: “Eventually, I would hope that most people in my ward will be following me on facebook, and sharing their ideas and comments. If you ‘do’ facebook, it is a particularly easy way to have your say.”
