The Neighbourhood & Response teams working out of Newton Aycliffe have been busy responding to a variety of incidents across the area over the past week, here’s a very brief update of what has been happening;
Officers executed a Magistrates Search Warrant at an address in Newton Aycliffe, and a large quantity of drugs and cash were seized, with one male arrested at the scene.
On Monday, a male was arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images.
Also on Monday, a male was arrested on suspicion of assault following a domestic related incident.
Response and neighbourhood officers responded to a report of a suicidal female. Fortunately, officers located the female within minutes, safe and well and is now receiving the appropriate support.
PCSO Kipling attended the North East Autism Society to speak with the students around Road Safety, and then conducted some Speedwatch checks on the A167 with the help of the students.
On Wednesday, PCSO’s Todd and Kipling attended the Shopwatch meeting, along with representatives from our local shops.
Also on Wednesday, Sgt Boyd chaired a steering group meeting looking at the creation of a new Community Hub in the town centre. The group have identified a property, surveys are being completed, and funding applied for. This work is in collaboration with a number of partner agencies including Lifeline Community Action.
On Friday night, a male was arrested following a report of a domestic related incident and was transported to custody.
On Saturday, PCSO’s Kipling and Todd seized an off-road bike that had been causing a nuisance to the public.
On Sunday afternoon we had the pleasure of attending the Middridge Summer Fair.
