Just a quick blog this week because I have been busy with poorly hedgehogs coming in and also doing a spot of fundraising at the Scout Club indoor car boot sale. Firstly thanks go to Julia, Bev, Marian, June, Valerie, Jack and Jane for the lovely card, and all the donations received, all for the hoggies in rescue, they are doing ok. Last Tuesday I collected a little boy from my vets, Elaine, was very worried about him, he was very ill when I admitted him but he seems to have turned a corner now, he has been called Ace, also Charlie came into rescue on Monday evening with breathing issues and a runny nose, he was picked up on Woodham Way by Babs, he is very content here, but I need at least three days antibiotic cover before his breathing improves, thank you for bringing him in.
I am fundraising in Tesco on Saturday for a few hours, please come and see me and ask about your hoggies, if I have one belonging to you. All funds raised purchase items like sharps, syringes, puppy pads, meds and food, I do nice food here which helps them recover.
Can I please make a point to mention that, if you see a hog out in the day he or she is not ok, pick the poor thing up, place in a high sided box with some towels in and get help immediately, do not be tempted to keep him or her yourself, this is not only illegal it is detrimental to the poor things life, they are very complex creatures and need specialist meds and care.
Pictured above is Ace.
