Dear Sir,
Where have all the ‘Please’, ‘Thank You’s’ and ‘Excuse Me’s’ gone? The world is full of ignorant people.
Very few people say Please, Thank You or Excuse Me anymore and it’s actually older people who are more guilty of this than the younger generation. People would rather push in front of you to get something or lean over you, barge through, than say excuse me, neither do their want to move to let you through, when you say a polite excuse me, but would rather give you a funny look.
They don’t hold doors open, but would rather let them slam shut in your face. As a child of the 1950’s, I was taught to say Please and Thank You, as well as have respect for others. I passed this onto my children and grandchildren. These few words, ‘Please’, ‘Thank You’, ‘Excuse Me’, go a long way to make the world a pleasanter place to live in.
