Aycliffe U15 Eagles 4 v 1 Birtley
A great overall team performance today, from everyone on the pitch. Some brilliant close range passing, to keep possession of the ball and tire the opposition, led to four very good goals. Difficult conditions in the heat, but the boys didn’t let that have an impact. Goals from Hamza x2, Joel and Albie. MOM Hamza.
Aycliffe U12 Wildcats 0 v 2 Hebburn Blues
This was a tough game against a side in a similar position in the league. It started off really tight with both sides defending well from front to back. Hebburn took the lead with a drive from the edge of the box. In the second half, Aycliffe had 24 shots, one hit the bar, and their keeper saved well. Almost on full-time a save from Sofia was parried to their striker to tap home.
Aycliffe U11 Girls 4 v 1 Greatham
Greatham managed to get the first goal, but Aycliffe pushed hard to get one back. Amelia managed to intercept a short goal kick, taking it around the keeper and making it 1-1. Phoebe was moved to Midfield, continually running through the Greatham defence and scored a well-deserved hat trick. MOTM goes to Frankie, she tracked back all game, ran the ball down the wing and had some good shots.
Aycliffe U11 Eagles v Durham FC
With the weather easing and the pitches now dried out, the Eagles managed six games on the bounce, and over the last couple of weeks the boys have had the chance to continue carrying their good performances from one week to the next. This week was no different, the boys are showing a very good understanding of how we are trying to play and they are using it to great effect, recording their third win in a row and extending their current unbeaten run to six games, with only one draw stopping it being six wins. Goals from Will and Teni, but fantastic football played by every single player, making them a joy to watch.
