Under 8’s Whites played Washington AFC Wildcats with only five players available. The team worked extremely hard for a terrific result. James and Cody scored the goals. Seb was awarded parents POTM and James was awarded opposition coaches POTM.
Under 9’s played against Skelton United, it was a tough game against a well organised opponent. Aycliffe’s goal was scored after a well worked corner from Oliver gave Noah the chance to finish. MOTM was awarded to captain George who was particularly good in defence.
Under 10’s Reds played against TIBS Yellows, starting off quick, with some outstanding passing and movement, creating chances. Marshall tormented the opposition defence throughout the first half, before a great through ball from Bobby set away Jace in to score. Then an outstanding quick corner from Marshall caught TIBS sleeping for Jace to turn in the second. Jenson made some good saves to keep TIBS at bay. In the second half, Aycliffe made five substitutions, with Andrew and Koa linking up well for Andrew to assist Marshall for a deserved goal. Andrew and Koa then scored one each. MOTM, picked by the opposition manager, was Jenson for some fantastic saves.
Under 11’s Blacks travelled to face Riverside Juniors, in what was a tough assignment. The high point of the game was Max firing home his tenth goal of the season. MOTM was Jacob, who put in a great second half battling display in the centre of midfield.
Under 11’s Whites played against Washington United and got a great result in a game they dominated. MOTM Ethan led the scoring with two goals, with the others coming from Oscar and Luca.
Under 12’s Whites travelled to face league leaders Hartlepool, in what turned out to be a feisty game full of entertainment. Hartlepool took an early lead through a deflected cross, but Aycliffe worked hard and were disappointed to see a goal disallowed for offside. Hartlepool doubled their lead, pouncing on a mistake at the back. Aycliffe started the second half slow but managed to get a goal back through Maxi with a well taken free kick from the edge of the box. Aycliffe could not find an equaliser, eventually going down 2-1. MOTM was awarded to Max L.
Under 13’s travelled to face Darlington TSC, coming away with a wonderful 5-0 win, in a game where the whole team performed magnificently hard for each other. Goals were scored by Archie, Oscar M, Oscar J (2) and Sam. MOTM was awarded to Archie.
Under 14’s came from one goal behind to beat Stockton Town Royals 4-1. It was a fantastic win, with goals coming from Blake, Luke, Harley and Ryan. MOTM was awarded to Yaley.
Under 15’s were away to Gateshead, Aycliffe played well from the start with great passing and energy. Gateshead scored a dubious looking goal, before Aycliffe were frustrated having a goal ruled out for offside. The hosts doubled their lead, before Isaac scored for Aycliffe, however they could not find the equaliser, going down 2-1. MOTM, picked by the opposition, was Jason.
Under 16’s Whites played out an exciting 2-2 draw with Hartlepool FC. There was some great football on show, with Aycliffe pushing for the three points, but could not manage to get the winner. Sam and Will scored the goals, Ollie was awarded MOTM.
Under 16’s Reds travelled to face Cleveland Juniors, who were unbeaten and sitting top of the league. Despite only having eleven players available, Aycliffe turned in an incredible performance, absolutely dominating the opposition and running out 3-0 winners. George, Ollie L and Will with the goals. MOTM was awarded to Kai.
