Harvest Festival celebrates the time of year when crops have been gathered from the field and people can reflect and show gratitude for the food that they have. It dates back a long time in British history, to when people relied on crops for food and farmers would give thanks for a good harvest.
The children and staff of St. Francis’ ventured to St. Clares’ church to celebrate the harvest as a family. We invited parents and carers to join us to learn and worship together with Reverend Ann and the parish. Several children in Year 6 took on the role to read from the Bible to the rest of the church. They were very brave and did a fantastic job!
The children and staff donated food to go towards St. Clares’ food bank for those who need it. Thank you to those who joined us at church and for the kind donations from the children and families at St. Francis’.
