Last Wednesday Newton Aycliffe was filled with the sound of Brass! “Always Drinking Marching Band” spent the day in the area performing for schools and the community, as part of Brass: Durham International Festival.

In the morning they joined pupils at Byerly Park Primary School for a lively performance, followed by two fantastic performances at Greenfield Community College for students, filling their lunch break and afternoon with the sounds of this great Spanish Band.

The day came to a vibrant close with a free performance by the band to members of the community at Greenfield Arts. The audience, of more than 80 people, thoroughly enjoyed the performance and commented what a great opportunity this was for people in the area.

Brave audience members were even called upon to share their musical talents alongside the band during the hour long performance, the perfect event for a sunny summer evening.

Greenfield Arts were pleased to be able to fund these performances for our young people and community – and would like to thank the schools and those who came to the performances for their support!
