Firstly, can I take the opportunity to mention two people who are no longer with us, firstly Brenda, the late wife of Roy and also Susan, both animal lovers who have left donations to this rescue thanks to their families for these very kind gestures. It all helps to keep these little ones alive and safe.
I hope to be in a position to engage a builder in the next two weeks, this means a lot to me because they will have everything they need for a healthy and happy stay, however long or short, these animals are very complex creatures and take a lot of work so in this extension there will be all my diagnostic tools, medicines, nebuliser etc. Also, each cage will have its own heat pad underneath it, a permanent place for the incubator and, most importantly, subtle lighting and no extreme household noises. It’s going to be easier for me to run this rescue to say the least.
All rescues are over capacity but, as you know, I am equipped to put more than one in a cage because they are all very small, they won’t have time to get to the right size or age to leave ‘til spring.
I will be out and about fundraising soon, when things slow down admission wise, so if you do see me, please come and say hello.
