Seven year old School Aycliffe racer Scarlet Dunn finished 7th on Sunday at the Rowrah ‘O Plate’ kart racing meeting in Cumbria. It was a very competitive meeting with a big grid of over 20 Bambino karts – 15 of which were the Comer class karts she races!

In only her second ever competitive event, she qualified 5th in the wet and drove super consistently fighting for the top 10 all day as the weather improved – this was also the first time she had competed in the dry.

She was supported once again by Grandad Ron Whitaker, who together with Mam Amanda and Dad Anthony Dunn (both former champion drivers) form Amaron racing.

“After being blustered around overnight with 50mph winds – the wind wrecked several awnings, thankfully not ours – we’re all very tired but super proud of our little girl. She did really well and really enjoys going karting.” said Anthony.

They look forward to the next meeting at Rowrah in November and some more good practice in between time!
