At the annual Open meeting of Shildon and District Flower Club, Chairwoman Pauline Wadge presented a cheque for £500 to Elizabeth Varley, Chairwoman of the recently-formed Bishop Auckland Group of Marie Curie Cancer Care – the Flower Club’s Charity of the Year.
The group has raised over £10,000 in its first year  – thanks to the generosity of people in South West Durham.
All monies raised by the Bishop Auckland group will go towards supplying ‘end of life care’ in the Bishop Auckland area
