Bishop Auckland Hospital Garden Club, which meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 8.15pm, held its Annual Garden Show recently in the Hospital Club on Escomb Road. Almost 150 entries, together with a raffle and the auction of produce raised £190 for Marie Curie. This amount was generously match-funded by local company, Hathaway Roofing, bringing the total raised at the Garden Show to £380. The Hospital Club itself also designated Marie Curie as its Charity of the Year for 2016. Staff and users, having donated their spare change, raised £176 for the  charity, making the total raised for Marie Curie Nurses at The Hospital Club a magnificent £556 This money will be used to provide ‘end of life care’ in the Bishop Auckland area.
