On Tuesday 12th February Sedgefield School Sport Partnership held their annual Cross Country Festival at the Oak Leaf Centre, Newton Aycliffe. 13 schools and 360 young people took part in the event which acts as a qualifier for Durham County Finals. There were four races which included Y3/4 Girls, Y3/4 Boys, Y5/6 Girls and Y5/6 Boys.

The course took the young people up and down the hills and around the football pitches at the Oakleaf Centre, a great venue for cross country.

The runners were representing themselves and their school teams as the top 2 teams and top 3 individuals in each race qualified. The results were as follows:

Those who have qualified now take part in the County Finals on Friday 15th March 2013, representing themselves, their school and Sedgefield SSP.

Mayor Val Raw attended the event and presented the medals to the winners and runners up. All 360 participants were given a certificate.
