Table tennis is really taking off at Greenfield School since the introduction of their Community club, which runs every Monday 5.30 to 6.30 in the sports hall.
The club is open to all ages from Primary school to adults, and the progress of all attending has been significant, thanks to the expert coaching of Matthew Porter ETTA level 2 Head Coach.
The school is also offering Table tennis during the Easter break with Matthew. Anyone interested in joining the club should contact Michael Rippon Greenfield’s Sports Facility Manager on 0787 9117224 for more information.
Greenfield’s Yr 7/8 Girls Table tennis team gained SILVER medals at the County Finals on the 22nd March at Freeman Quays. Lucy, Abbey, Tamara and Megan played extremely well, beating Weardale 7 – 0 and Chester le Street 8 – 0 to get through to the final.
They eventually finished in 2nd place with Easington finishing in Gold medal position, and Durham Johnston in 3rd place. Fantastic achievement girls – 2nd in the County, Well done!
