A vibrant coffee morning was held on Friday 27th September in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support at the home of Whitehouse Funeral Service, Surtees House, Hilton Road, Newton Aycliffe.
The Whitehouse girls, Dot’s Crafts and Archers Catering of Woodland Road, Darlington all helped by baking wonderful fresh cakes, scones and sausage rolls all served with coffee and tea. There was also an opportunity to buy raffle tickets, play games and to browse around the family run funeral home.
Many people attended the event, which was of course, for a very good cause indeed and the very generous amount of £257.00 was raised, to which we are extremely grateful to all concerned and all who attended. Bryan A Shepherd said ‘We were over the moon with the response. The generosity of the Newton Aycliffe people made the whole event a big success.
