Students and staff at Greenfield Community College went all out in their fundraising efforts for Children in Need on Friday 18th November, raising an amazing £1450. Students were invited to attend in non-uniform for a donation to the charity and each house group organised a series of additional events: break time saw students setting up a series
of stalls on both campuses, including Bake Sales, Guess the Number of Sweets in the Jar, a Treasure Hunt, Name the Teddy and Tombola.
Other events included the ever-popular ‘Soak the Teacher’, Karaoke, the Push-Up Challenge and a charity Dodgeball game. Assistant Headteacher Kath Bennett said “Through our House System, we asked students to plan and organise their own fundraising efforts. We were very impressed at the range of ideas and how well everyone responded. It really was a fantastic day!” Following a suggestion from staff and students, part of the total raised will be donated to Kieran Maxwell’s Legacy Fund, with the rest going to Children in Need.
