The search is on for County Durham’s most dedicated pupils. Durham County Council is trying to track down teenagers in their final year of secondary school and children in their last year of primary who have a 100 per cent attendance record.
Youngsters who have never missed even half a day in class throughout their whole secondary or primary career, will be invited to a special celebration event.
The evening, at Durham County Cricket Club, will include a tour of the club, awards presentation, photographs and a buffet.
Families who think a child may have a 100 per cent attendance record to date should contact the child’s school. To be eligible for an award, the attendance must continue to be 100 per cent until the pupil’s official leaving date in the summer. The council is also contacting schools direct in order to identify eligible pupils.
